How do I navigate the site?

Use the setup tour for a guided walkthrough of every feature. You can replay it any time.

Does my friend need to use the app?

No. Games to Gift works entirely from your side. Your friend just needs a public Steam profile so we can see their wishlist and library.

How do I actually gift the game once I find one I like?

We link you directly to Steam or a key seller. On Steam you buy it as a gift at checkout and it goes straight to your friend's library. On a key seller you buy a code and send it to them to redeem. See How to Gift for the exact steps.

Can I buy a game now and schedule delivery for their birthday?

Yes. When gifting on Steam, you can set a delivery date up to one year in the future. This is useful for locking in a sale price today and having the gift arrive on the right occasion. If your friend buys the game themselves before your scheduled delivery arrives, Steam automatically refunds the purchase to your Steam wallet. You won't lose anything.

Where do deal prices come from? Are the stores safe?

Deal data is sourced from IsThereAnyDeal, which tracks prices across Steam and authorized retailers including Fanatical, Humble Bundle, Green Man Gaming, GOG, and others. IsThereAnyDeal only indexes legitimate storefronts. Grey market marketplaces are not included.

Will the price I see match what I pay at checkout?

Prices we display are sourced from IsThereAnyDeal and are typically shown in USD for a specific regional storefront. Steam uses regional pricing, so the price you see at checkout may be different depending on your country. Always verify the final price before completing a purchase.

How often are deals updated?

Deal prices are refreshed every 6 hours from IsThereAnyDeal.

How are gift suggestions scored?

Each game is scored on taste match (genres and tags vs. your friend's preferences), budget fit, deal strength, and occasion timing. Wishlist games on sale are always surfaced first, as that combination is the clearest buying signal.

What is regional pricing?

Steam sets different prices per country. If your region and your friend's region have a large price difference, Steam may block the gift. Buying a key from a third-party store is an alternative, but keys can be region-locked. Always check the listing for region restrictions before buying. Some keys will not activate outside their listed region.

Will you send me emails?

Only if you opt in. No emails by default. When you enable notifications, we send at most one email every 6 days and only when there is a meaningful reason: an upcoming occasion, a strong deal on a game they would like, or a periodic summary. We never send promotional emails or newsletters.

How do I unsubscribe from notification emails?

Every notification email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking it immediately disables all emails for your account. You can also toggle notifications off at any time from Settings.
